Party in the USA!!!! (Part One)

The girls and I hopped back over the pond last week for a two week visit to grandma's house. It's a long trip, so we wanted to make it worth our while. And just my luck that we have a cancelled flight out of Atlanta because of a freak snow storm. By the time we got to my mom's house, we had been on the road for 27 hours. The girls did incredible on the flight over here and with the delay in Atlanta -- what troopers those two are!

If I haven't said this yet, Korean Air treats you like royalty, even back in the cheap seats. The flight attendants are so sweet and checked in on the girls and I every so often to see if "the babies" needed anything. And they feed you! And it's really good food! Every hour they come around with something to eat or drink, and even offer you wine with your dinner. So nice!

We landed last Tuesday (3/2) and it took us a few days to get adjusted. By Friday, we were all feeling pretty good. Good thing too, because my sister treated me to a Taylor Swift concert. That girl is so darned cute! And what a show! Kellie Pickler and Gloriana opened up for her and really set the stage for her. We sang at the top of our lungs for two hours and then went to pick Ronnie up from the airport.

Saturday brought some sunny, warm weather and the girls couldn't wait to swim in Cousin Callie's pool. It's been pretty cold in Florida this winter, so we said they could "swim" in the hot tub. They didn't seem to mind how cool the water was and started running back and forth between the pool and the hot tub. All this while the adults drank beer and fixed a low country boil. We finished up our night by watching the fireworks at Disney's Magic Kingdom. Mayra, Erica's friend, took us to the Wilderness Resort (where her husband works) and we got to see them set to the music, without the crowds and admission price.

Holly has been studying all about space in school, so we decided to hit one of the best attractions in the state, Kennedy Space Center. They were so excited exploring everything offered, and most of it was hands on. The only grumble I heard was that Holly wanted to sit in the space shuttle's cockpit, but they didn't have it open for her. The price of admission included the IMAX films, and Holly chose the one that was all about the moon. Afterwards, Holly said she can't wait to grow up and be an astronaut and Sarah asked if she could have a purple astronaut suit. Guess we'll sort all that out later....

This week we're hanging out in Jacksonville visiting with family and friends. Ronnie and I are also finishing up our training for Saturday's River Run. Praying for the weather to stay warm, because this lake is just begging me to come ski on it....
